The Real John Kerry

Nice.

The video, sure, but really I'm referring to the Senator. A friend of mine who has never met him asked me yesterday what the Senator is like, and the first thing I could think to say was, he's really nice. As someone who mostly talks for a living and writes as a hobby, I guess I could have come up with something more substantive, but it was what came to mind.

I'll have to send her this video.

The Kerry folks have new video out of the Senator meeting with constituents during his "Kerry on your Corner" tour, with a voice-over that talks about the real JK -- not as we see him in the Senate grilling hearing witnesses or on TV or giving speeches, but just meeting people across the Commonwealth and having a great time doing it.

I've seen and spoken with JK at events, and this is the part that most people don't know. It's a shame, too. He's really a lot of fun, and you only have to meet him once to see what the video captures. How the Republicans ever got 'elitist' from this guy -- and how the Kerry folks kept the video to just over a minute, is beyond me. He may be tough when he's fighting for us in the Senate, and eloquent when he's giving a speech, but he's also genuinely caring and concerned for the people of Massachusetts and our country.

And, if you ask me, really nice.

Really good video clip. The voiceover is particularly nice with that accent. In fact, I think I recognize that voice.

Well done video, guys.

Thanks for posting it Faith.
