The big news this week was the Dem Convention, and Sen. Kerry's speech was huge. Josh Marshall called it Golden, and the mainstream media raved. The question among the pundits was "Where was Kerry the past four years?" The question here is "Where were you?" I've heard almost every word of Senator Kerry's speech before. Honestly, it was a great speech, but this stuff is really not news to those of us who were paying attention.
Anyway, convention goers and Denverites (?) got an up close and personal view of the native-born Kerry at his speech in the Mile High City, at a fundraiser, at the California press breakfast, and just hanging out.
There were more rumors of SoS, confirmation of the upcoming debate with O'Reilly, and reports of what must have been an awful confrontation with the vile Mr. Pickens(who is in it for the money, in case you didn't know).
In other Kerry news, the Senator and Gov. Patrick returned to Massachusetts to honor fallen hero Pfc Paul Conlon between the Kennedy tribute and Senator Kerry's speech, and Sen. Kerry wrote about fixing healthcare in The Hill. Al Gore endorsed the Senator for his commitment to environmental issues, and Alexandra's book is getting some attention.
It's good to see that Senator Kerry's Republican challenger is being called on his smears. Speaking of Republicans, McCain's VP pick appears to be a flat earther, as Sen. Kerry pointed out on This Week, and McCain has been exposed as a tool of right wing nutjobs. Who'd a guessed?
Happy Labor Day!
