I'm not sure if anyone could have outdone Michelle Obama last night, but Ted Kennedy was right there. I have to call Day One a tremendous win, with the heart wrenching tribute to Teddy and his great speech, followed by the powerful words of Michelle Obama, connecting with the American people in a very sincere and profound way.
You'll see both all over the internet, I'm sure. It was a fabulous night, topped off by the adorable Obama girls talking to their daddy via satellite, which is bound to go viral. It was just too cute to not.
It's really impossible to compare the two moments, each profound and special, but I think the tribute video was something folks will remember for a very long time.

The Senator and Teresa were on hand to provide commentary of Teddy's speech and tribute. As Teresa noted, "The hopes in Barack that he has and the hopes for the country are exactly the hopes that he's always carried in his heart." The Senator went on to say that "Ted has been fighting for the things that Barack Obama has made priorities of the campaign." and that "Barack Obama represents the kind of change President Kennedy represented in his time."
There were other special moments on day 1, including Sen. Harkin's nod to the hearing impaired when he signed his own intro, and Jimmy Carter's tribute and Katrina video.
It's on to Day Two, when Hillary Clinton will keynote, and the Senate women, a slew of Governors including Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick and other great Democrats will take the stage in support of our nominee and to focus on the campaign's goal of 'Renewing America's Promise".
