JK and Michelle (and friends) in Nevada

Before I write anything else, I just have to show you a couple photos sent to us by friend of KV 'E. Mccudden' of the second cutest kid on the planet. And I say that only because mine is first, even though she's twenty years older and therefore in a completely different category of cuteness.

I'm this many!

OK, I'm done, but how precious is that? I can honestly say that I've never seen a bad photo of Sen. Kerry with children, but these are just priceless. This adorable child and his dad attended a house rally with Sen. Kerry and Michelle Obama on Thursday, and reported on the event (dad reporting, not the little one). E Mccudden tells us that Sen. Kerry spoke about --

jkmichelle1.JPG

"How he believes that America is at a turning point and how in his years in the Senate he has seen many changes occur. He said that he senses that the time is now for a real sea change and that he believes that Obama can make that change. He also touted Obama's leadership in the senate and his ability to pull both sides together."

"He talked about the need to bring America back to its position of leadership in the world and how he thought Obama was uniquely capable of being able to bring back to the world a sense of honesty and fairness. He felt the message an Obama presidency would send to the world on the day that he put his hand on the bible would go a long way toward returning America in the worlds eyes to one of inclusiveness and respect for other countries."

jkmichelle4.JPG "He said it was not easy to endorse this election with people he has long relationships and respects highly but that he believed that of all the people running, Obama had the best shot at healing a nation that has been divided for far to long so that we could get back in the business of getting the work done that America needs to go forward."

"He was quite impressive actually, and very gracious when working the crowd. My respect for Kerry grew by leaps and bounds yesterday."

It's fun to hear first hand reports from these events, and in particular those from people who meet Sen. Kerry for the first time and find he's quite different from how the media portrays him. Great thanks to E Mccudden for the report from Nevada and the wonderful photos of Michelle and the Senator. Here's one more of Michelle Obama speaking to the crowd.

We found some video of Michelle and the Senator from the same house party, which was both a campaign event for Senator Obama and a birthday celebration for the woman we hope will become our next First Lady.

Happy Birthday, Michelle!

I'd seen the original report, but your post really opens up the story and expands JK's inspiring message for us. And thanks for more adorable pictures and great video, too!

I agree about the story's added comments, the gracious Kerry lauding the field, while differentiating the need for Obama. For much of what he chose to compliment, I can say the same about Kerry and what he would want to accomplish.

That second photo tugged at my heart. This firsthand became another misty-eyed regret about 2004.

Great pics, and two wonderful videos. It is clear that Kerry sees in Obama shared values; that activism is what creates political change. I also am very impressed with Michelle Obama, who is an inspirational speaker in her own right.

Thanks for posting all of this, Faith.

I am with you on the no-bad-photo of JK with kids. He would have made a great kindergarten teacher too!

He is a kid-whisperer!

This post is a very nice compilation of video and comments.
Campaigning seems to agree with Senator Kerry- he looks and sounds great. And, Michele Obama is charming and definitely and asset to Senator Obama's campaign.

THAT ADORABLE child is my Grandson.....His Grandpa and I both think he IS THE CUTEST KID involved in politics.

Grandma B

To Anon,

Your grandson would make a perfect candidate- he already is a little charmer.

Excellent post!

The pics and videos are really nice. It also looks like Kerry and Michelle fired up everyone in that room. :)

That little boy is so adorable. I especially like the middle one where he leans forward.

Hi Grandma B!
Thanks to you and your family for allowing us to share these great photos of your grandson!

Just joining the chorus of fans here to say that these photos of JK with his littlest fan are positively heartwarming. Great posting, Faith!

I am that little boy's Grandmother. That little darling boy has two politically active and intelligent parents who will bring Evan up to be both socially conscious and politically active, and informed as are they.
