To say Senator Kerry was in rare form yesterday on the Senate floor would be a diminishing of all his previous speeches he has made on Iraq. Still, today's call for a new Iraq policy went even beyond his already brilliant record on speaking out against the failed strategy that is currently being pursued by the administration.
His point-by-point dismantling of counter-arguments, such as 'we cannot leave Iraq in the hands of Al Qaeda' or 'The surge is a success, it was only the previous approach that was the failure', revealed Senator Kerry's depth of knowledge about the history of Iraq and the world, that is amazing in its detail.
To simply recap the speech or post a transcript would not do it justice, so here is the video footage instead.

KerryVision has become what I call my catch up site. I didn't get an opportunity to watch the Senator speak in the Senate this week, so it is good that you have been able to bring it too me when I can actually find some time to take it in. Thanks for your efforts in keeping me up to date on what Senator Kerry has been up too.
As for this speech, it was wonderful. I love the way Senator Kerry touches on everything that should be common sense to this administration. And, it was good to hear him call out the Republican slugs for their little "MoveOn" stunt. They are true to form and haven't changed at all. It is obvious they don't give a damn about what is going on in Iraq or to our soldiers that are fighting and dying while trying to defend this foolhearted strategy. For the lot of them, it is partisan politics and gotcha games as usually.
