Gonzo!

Apologies to all of you who were dying for some Larry Craig lewd conduct news. If it wasn't for his voting record,

Voted YES on constitutional ban of same-sex marriage. (Jun 2006)

Voted NO on adding sexual orientation to definition of hate crimes. (Jun 2002)

Voted NO on expanding hate crimes to include sexual orientation. (Jun 2000)

Voted YES on prohibiting same-sex marriage. (Sep 1996)

Voted NO on prohibiting job discrimination by sexual orientation. (Sep 1996)

I might actually feel sorry for the man. I mean, if you've got to get some in the Minneapolis airport men's room, well, it's really not for me to judge. But the hypocrisy is pretty stunning, isn't it? I mean, this is a guy who led the impeachment effort against President Clinton for his indiscretion, and now Sen. Craig's bathroom antics have been added to the ever growing list of Republican sex scandals.

So, Sen. Craig gets a (partial) pass because there's much, much bigger news to report (and there was no video).

Even though CNN is giving more time this evening to the Craig 'scandal', the real news is that as of September 17, 2007, Attorney General Alberto Gonzales will RESIGN.

September 17, we are reminded by our good friend ProSense at DU, is ...

CONSTITUTION DAY!

Thank you, thank you, thank you. How did he know that's EXACTLY what I wanted for my Constitution Day gift?

And I thought he wouldn't recall.

Of course, George was the first to defend his pal Alberto

Oh, cry me a river, W. We warned you when you picked him that he wasn't competent.

You know, I just don't feel the least bit sorry for Mr. Gonzales, and unlike the AG,

I actually do recall. My memory must be a bit better than the Attorney General's.

Here's what Sen. Kerry had to say about the resignation of Alberto Gonzales:

Alberto Gonzales turned the Justice Department into a political arm of the White House and he should have resigned long ago,” Kerry said. “From the firings of the US Attorneys to evasion about illegal wiretapping, Gonzales single-handedly damaged the integrity of our legal system and subverted efforts to get to the truth. This is a critical moment. President Bush can either continue on a divisive and destructive path, or choose in the next Attorney General someone who knows they’re not the president’s lawyer but rather the nation’s top law enforcement officer. The President should choose a replacement that gives the department a fresh start, untainted by controversy; and even with Gonzales gone, Congress must keep pushing until we get truth and accountability on unanswered questions involving everything from illegal wiretapping to the US Attorneys scandal.

Another informative and entertaining post.
I loved you comment to GB- cry me a river- LOL.
Bush did look like a spoiled boy who had to give something up he didn't want to. Then, surprise- he blames politics and the Dem's for Gonzo being picked on. Sometimes it is all so surreal. How is it possible the GB is our President?
As for Senator Craig, I actually learned something from his bathroomcapades- playing footsy under the stalls is a code for soliciting sex. Who would have thought?

I almost choked when Bush said that Gonzo's good name had been slung in the mud and it was all politics that brought this about. You know, I am so sick, sick, sick of this idiot in the WH, not one ounce of integrity, not one ounce of honor, not one ounce of decency, not one ounce of courage, not one ounce of humanity, etc., but.... Be one of his cronies and it is love, love, love... just as long as you keep kissing his ***.

Wisteria,

Me too, who woulda thunk ?
